What is Reflections?

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Each year, students in preschool through high school are invited to create and submit works of art in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and the visual arts.

Every year there is a new theme for the competition, which is usually chosen from student suggested ideas. This year's theme is I am Hopeful.

Congratulations to everyone who participated and made your voices heard through your art. 

Thank you for attending the Reflections celebration on November 15th, 2023 at 2pm. 

Winners and participants received trophies, medals, and certificates of participation at the celebration to recognize Stonegate students for their hard work and creativity. 

Everyone submitted incredible work and we will be displaying your work at the Stonegate Elementary Library.

Entries from Stonegate Elementary will be judged primarily on how well the student uses his or her artistic vision to portray the theme, originality and creativity.  The top entry from Stonegate Elementary for each category and each age division will go on to be judged in the Regional PTA Reflections Program which encompasses all schools in the Irvine Unified School District. 

Who Can Participate?

All Stonegate students can participate. The three age divisions that students will compete in at Stonegate Elementary are:

• Primary: Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 2
• Intermediate: Grades 3 - 5
• Middle School: Grades 6 – 8
• Special Artist*: All grades welcome

* Special Artist is an option for students with disabilities who receive services under IDEA or ADA.

What are the categories?

Students can submit original artwork in one or more of the following art categories. Each artwork is to be submitted with an online Entry / Submission form.

• Dance Choreography
• Film Production
• Literature
• Music Composition
• Photography
• Visual Arts
• Special Artist Division

Adults are welcomed to encourage students but are asked not to assist in any way with their interpretation of the theme or artistic expression.
